The most flexible landing page builder around, hands down. It’s built with designers in mind. You could call it the Photoshop of page builders. For real. It also has some incredible advertising features that can’t be found anywhere.

Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

Two words come to mind when I think about Kit (ConvertKit) – elegance and simplicity. It’s well-designed, easy to use, and just makes sense. If you’ve ever been overwhelmed by email marketing tools, try this instead! Thank me later. 🙂

MailerLite

At first I thought this tool wasn’t serious. Boy was I wrong. It’s more powerful than ConvertKit, more aesthetically appealing than ActiveCampaign, and very affordable. You can even create websites, landing pages, and automations!

ActiveCampaign

We run on ActiveCampaign (as do many of our clients). It’s a real marketing automation tool, and quite affordable (for what it does). If you think your business needs more automation power, don’t be afraid to switch. Highly recommended.

ThriveCart

I've used ThriveCart a lot (for myself and with clients) and absolutely LOVE IT! The features are incredible. It can do so much! As of this writing, you can get it for LIFE, with ONE single payment. Don’t miss out!

SamCart

I recommend ThriveCart over SamCart, but either way, you really can’t go wrong. The cool thing about SamCart (as of this writing) is that you can connect directly to Kajabi (for your course/membership access). Pretty cool.

Circle.so

Circle is one of the most popular community platforms right now (2023). I like it a lot, but I still find their mobile app to be a bit buggy, especially with commenting, notifications, and course videos. But it's still a great platform!

Mighty Networks

O..M..G.. For real. You have to check this platform out! They have a free trial. I had no idea it had this much power. It’s community-focused, but it does online courses as well! It’s SUPER ELEGANT and their mobile-app is incredible too.

Zapier

Zapier is a critical component of my business operations, and that of my clients. It's an absolute essential.

That said, I've been using Make a lot more these days. I love the visual design of it. Makes a lot more sense, once you get the hang of it.

Make

Make is super powerful. Very similar to Zapier but a lot more flexible. If you use my referral link here, you'll get 10,000 operations for free! (not available normally)

Usermaven

I absolutely love this tool! It completely replaces Google Analytics (and then some). Usermaven is an all-in-one analytics solution for online businesses. It helps you make data-driven decisions – without spending hours on setup.

SegMetrics

Improve the ROI of your marketing funnels. Get 100% clarity on where your leads come from and how they act. SegMetrics will help you get a handle on the KPIs that matter most for your marketing funnels.

Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports is a little more advanced and complex than SegMetrics. But both tools will help you get the marketing analytics and insights you need to make the right decisions at the right time. Just getting started? I would use SegMetrics.

ClickMagick

If you’re looking for a way to keep track of all your links, look no further! ClickMagic is an AMAZING link tracking tool that I’ve used for years. You can use your own domain (or subdomain) and track and optimize all your marketing with it.

Demio

This is my all-time favorite webinar platform. LOVE IT. By now you know I’m a huge fan of elegance and simplicity, and they nailed it! They also have incredible integrations with all kinds of interesting “triggers” and “actions”. Check it out!

Zoom

Despite all the issues Zoom has been criticized for lately, it’s still the industry leader when it comes to online meetings and video conferencing. They also do webinars quite nicely too. Zoom is a no-brainer tool to have.

Help Scout

We’ve been using Help Scout for a few years now and love it! It’s very user-friendly and elegant, and provides a seamless support experience for your customers. The “saved replies” and “help docs” features save a lot of time.

Basecamp

Basecamp is The One. We love it. I’m also a huge fan of their books (see this one and this one). They'll soon have a Card Table feature (like “Kanban boards”). If you love elegant, comprehensive, and simple, Basecamp is definitely for you!

ClickUp

My team and I have tried EVERYTHING (and I almost mean that literally). ClickUp is one of the best. That said, it can be a bit overwhelming and chaotic, especially if you don't know exactly what you need and why. Worth checking out though.

Slack

If used correctly, Slack can be amazing. We hate email, and most project management tools don’t do “conversations” and “chat” very well (apart from Basecamp, they nailed it!). If you want a calmer take on Slack, definitely check out Twist. And if you want an all-in-one, go with Basecamp. :)

KWFinder

Keyword research is a MUST for any business. If you’re serious about tapping into the minds and thoughts of your audience, you should be doing copious amounts of keyword research. It will help get your content found organically too.

Ahrefs

This tool is INCREDIBLE. It’s not cheap, but it’s verrrrry worth it if you’re serious about SEO (search engine optimization). Their training is some of the best training I have EVER seen on the Internet. No joke. Definitely check Ahrefs out.

Stripe

Stripe is the best payment processor out there. So intuitive and easy to use, and very reliable. My clients and I have been using it for years and years. Although it’s not available in all countries, it’s definitely worth signing up for. And it’s free!

Wave

There are a ton of accounting tools out there but I haven't found anything as elegant and streamlined as Wave. I use in my business and absolutely love it. It allows you to easily pull in your bank and credit card transactions and does invoicing too! 

QuickBooks Online

Although I used QuickBooks Online for years, and it is the “industry standard", I found it be really clunky and hard to navigate. I've since switched to Wave and I'm actually loving it! That said, certain situations (and/or your CPA!) may require you to use QuickBooks Online.
